The best excuse for people to get rid of something is to say that it is very difficult. When you consider something difficult, you can never reach there. Nothing is difficult; you just need a desire, a will to do it.

Q: What is the difference between longing and craving? How do I know if I am in longing or craving for something?

 Craving is for temporary, petty and small things but longing is for bigger and permanent things. Like you have cravings for sugar, success or sex, but longing is associated with love. You feel something in your heart.

The entire universe is one whole; and when you drop holding on to limited boundaries, you gain the entire universe.

Q: What is moun (silence) and how to follow it? What are things that we should avoid during moun?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
 Moun means silence. You are mixing English and Hindi.
How to be in silence? First, by not talking and second is antar moun, quieting the mind.
For that when you sit in an advanced course, where a number dharanas or pratyahara are given. A number of techniques are given to quite the mind. In silence it is better to look at the creation. Look at the trees and birds and less at peoples’ faces. You look at peoples’ faces and you feel like talking, expressing or doing something. If you observe the creation it brings quietness to your mind. Nature can evoke thoughts inside you. It can bring out some poems, some poetry, or some new ideas.
This mind constantly is on the run, to quite that down – doing pranayama, observing nature, being conscious of every step you take, eating less food and drinking plenty of water, all of this will work.

In Knowledge, you smile and laugh at the event. You grow out of the event with the power of knowledge.

Q: Why can’t we come and meet you straight in your kutir? These chains that are around the entrance of your kutir make us more restless?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
 The road to my home is such; a little crooked, because everyone’s minds are a little crooked. Don’t worry, even if the road is a little crooked you will reach straight to your destination.
