Knowledge Point – 9

SriSriSpeaks: Wake up and see the present, you will find happiness is there, unconditional happiness. Then you are happy and not dependant on others for your happiness. Happiness depends only on your mind. When the mind is free of past impressions and future cravings, happiness is there.

Q: Guruji, how to learn to let go?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
Take a deep breath in and hold. That’s it! Now you know how to let go.

SriSriSpeaks: Truth is that which does not change. To know what is truth, you need to go through all that is not true. So, all that changes is not truth. Life is a quest to find what is truth, don’t be in a hurry. Truth can be realized in deep meditation and love is truth. They are two sides of the same coin. In short, truth is that which never changes and love is that which is undescribable.

Q: Dear Guruji, I’ve worked hard for three years but my supervisor killed my career without thinking. Now I am jobless and have lost my vision of life. How to deal with negative emotions about my boss?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
Listen, no point in sitting and brooding over the past. Wake up! With full energy, move forward.
If you have lost one job, so what?! A million other jobs are there in the world. You can take another one. Never mind if you get paid a little bit less in this job and you got more there, move on!
Life is worth much more than sitting and brooding and wasting your energy and your time on what has happened in the past. It might have been because of your own mistakes in the present or it could be that you were unable to see your mistake in the past. That could be because of a past life, but never mind. There is no point in analyzing the past now. We need to look forward and just move on.
Don’t lose your enthusiasm for whatsoever reason.

SriSriSpeaks: Every responsibility, whether small or big, is important at different times. Even the smallest task can be done with perfection. You do not have to be a genius. Just be simple.

Q: What is the connection between the thought and the action?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
You should never do thoughtless action or you will be in trouble. There are two dimensions of our life. Sometimes you act without thinking and sometimes you only think and don’t act. Source of both – thought and action – is you. Knowing who you are, your thoughts get streamlined and actions become perfect. Your thoughts and actions are aligned.
